I just placed my Scentsy Pledge to Support Family Businesses. I pledged to spend $50.00 at a LOCAL shop in my town and I pledged to tell 4 of my customers about the cause....

Job loss, foreclosure and greater demand at local food banks. These aren’t just stories on a newscast. Americans are struggling. Small businesses are at risk. We must rally to help small businesses in our communities – the very businesses that often lead an economic recovery.


So what can you do?
One idea. 100,000 people. $5 million. It all adds up to big help for small business.
Dollars spent at community-based merchants create a multiplier effect in the local economy. The American Impendent Business Alliance estimates that for every dollar spent at a local independent merchant, three or more times as much goes back into the local economy compared to a dollar spent at chain-owned businesses. By pledging to spend just $50 at a locally owned small business and encouraging others to do the same, we can spread the word and collectively contribute to small businesses and to our surrounding communities.

Scentsy contributed $100,000 to 40 small businesses in its home community to celebrate its Fifth Anniversary. The experience was inspiring; the impact significant. Many Scentsy consultants expressed an interest in contributing further. We love that. We support that. Contribution starts from the heart then grows, expands and spreads across the country because true contribution is not tied to what you receive.

Our goal is to inspire 100,000 people to pledge to spend an extra $50 at locally owned small businesses on October 12, 2009. That’s a $5 million economic infusion that can create a ripple effect in communities across the nation.

It's been a while

September is already here and looking forward on the calendar it's going to be a busy month. Already, there have been two weddings and two receptions... i'm traveling to Ohio the end of the month for Hammer and I am hoping to meet my sponsor Angela Tippett. Lots of traveling this month but Scentsy is still going strong... There hasn't been a person yet who doesn't like these products... everyone is so excited to order again... One other thing to note... my little girl is turning two shortly... her birthday is the 22nd, however we are having a party on the 26th... man time flies and i can not believe how big she is and how much she talks.. pretty soon she won't be my little baby any more but a little girl...
