Why is that so awesome? That means that you don't have to wait for the transition to sign up! One of the great things you can do with your Spring/Summer party testers when they are discontinued is give a party tester to your hostess as a thank you gift. Did you know that a party tester is about the size of a baby food jar. It contains about as much wax as a 1/2 Scentsy bar. When you give one as a thank you to your hostess, she can scrape the wax to use in her warmer. This will make it so you don't have to invest right away in a bunch of car candles to give away. Simple put a discontinued party tester in a cute little bag, add some fun filler, and tie a bow around it. What a fun little gift!

If you don't give out all your Spring/Summer catalogs before they are discontinued, simple add a label on them that says, "Contact me for an updated Catalog" and leave them around until they are gone. Make sure your information is on the catalog :)

I also wanted to share these FIRE facts I found about "wicked" Candles: I already shared a little about the soot of "wicked" candles.

Candle Statistics

Candles cause an estimated 15,600 fires in residential structures, 150 deaths, 1,270 injuries, and $539 million in estimated direct property damage each year.

  • Over half (55%) of home candle fires start because the candle is too close to some combustible material.
  • More candle fires (38%) begin in the bedroom than in any other room.
  • Falling asleep is a factor in 12% of home candle fires and 26% of the associated deaths.
  • Half of all civilian candle fire deaths occur between Midnight and 6am.
  • December is the peak month for candle fires; Christmas is the peak day.
  • Young children and older adults have the highest death risk from candle fires.
  • The risk of a fatal candle fire appears higher when candles are used for light.

Source: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) - Candle Fires, September 2007.

Tragic and Preventable Candle Fires

  • Three sleeping boys died when a candle left burning in the living room ignited nearby combustibles.
  • A man and his three children died in a fire when hot wax from an unattended candle dripped on curtains, igniting them.
  • Eleven members of a family died in a fire when a lighted candle ignited a mattress.
  • Two children died in a fire when a lighted candle rolled under the Christmas tree.
  • A mother and young baby died when a burning candle used for religious observances ignited cabinetry.

Fact: The majority of candle fires result from human error and negligence.

Why Wickless, What's wrong with regular "wicked" candles?

Here is a write up about the potential hazards "wicked" candles can have on your home. It is a great article!

By Insure.com
The use of candles dates back to prehistoric times. They've been used for lighting, heating, and decoration. Candles might also be causing irreparable damage to your home — and your insurance might not cover it.

Candle soot

Many of the popular scented candles today are made by mixing oils into the candle wax. The more oil in a candle, the stronger the scent. More oil also means a higher potential for soot, which can eventually coat your carpets, drapes, and furniture.

After the soot settles, cleaning it off your walls, carpet, couch, and appliances can become impossible. The electrically charged bond is too strong for household cleaners to break. You have little choice but to replace the soiled surfaces or buy new items.

Ron Bailey, engineer and owner of Bailey Engineering in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has tested candles. One of Bailey's tests involved using a model home as the proving ground. He burned four candles for 15 hours. Soot deposited on the walls, appliances, and drapes.

Bailey says he’s seen homes, where candle soot has caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage. "It's eye-opening. They had to replace the carpets and clean up and repaint the walls," he says.

One homeowner in Texas faced nearly $200,000 in damages and replacement costs because of candle soot. The soot particles infested her heating and cooling ductwork, which had to be replaced. Much of her furniture was covered by candle soot.

Frank Vigil, a building specialist with the Applied Building Science Team at North Carolina State University, says the problems from candle soot are becoming more and more evident. Vigil has investigated several cases, including one in which he was hired by State Farm. "There was quite substantial property damage [in that case], over $10,000," he says.

Vigil says he knows of many claims made against insurance companies as a result of soot from candles. "This is becoming a big issue, near epidemic in proportions," he says.

No wick, no flame, no soot, it is really better!!! Try Scentsy today :)

OVER THE WEEKEND

Unfortunately I have not been able to put any updates on here because my family and I were in Great Falls for the weekend for the Montana State Fair. It was so much fun, we all had a blast. We went to all the exhibit rooms, which by the way, there was a Scentsy booth set up. (and I even saw a car with Pennsylvania plates on it which had a Scentsy consultant sticker on it) Good products spread fast. We took my daughter through the petting zoo which had kangaroos, zebras, and a 4horned sheep. She thought they all were great. Friday night we went to Gary Allen which had to have been a sold out show. It was packed but really good. I really love his music. Saturday I watched my cousin sing in the Country Showdown and that night we went to Bret Michaels. Now that was by far the best concert I went to... Maybe its because i have a little crush:) I got Pete Evick and Lucky Chucky's autographs and pictures taken with them. Rhys, Aubrey, and I spent time with Rhys's grandma and then on Sunday, Aubrey and I headed home. Rhys will be staying at the ranch until sunday. His dad is the senator in Great Falls and he has a meeting of some sort to attend so Rhys will be taking care of the ranch, which is his passion.
All in all I had a very fun weekend but I am looking forward to a relaxing week ahead, I hope... I am also planning on enrolling in Scentsy and I hope to get my starter kit by the end of the week. My next plan will be to try and have a party next week some time. we will see
